MPS Systems North America and Green Bay Packaging Coated Products Operations have teamed up to open a joint Demo & Applications Technology Center in Green Bay, WI, USA. The Technology Center is a separate building on the Green Bay Packaging campus and opens September 1 of this year. MPS is displaying a 10-color 17″ EF multi-substrate flexo press that is equipped with UV/LED, hot air dryers and a large number of different converting options. “We are very excited to open a state-of-the-art North American Demo & Applications Technology Center together with Green Bay Packaging,” says Kees Nijenhuis, Vice President of MPS Systems North America. “In our new Technology Center we are going to show our potential customers something special, that is why we have decided to install a 10 color 17 inch wide EF press with all the bells and whistles. The EF is our automated multi substrate press and future proof press platform. In our Technology Center we are going to show our potential customers what is possible when we push the limits when it comes to productivity, flexo print quality and flexible converting.” The new Demo & Applications Technology Center is part of the local organization of MPS in North America, which includes local press manufacturing, technical consultancy, sales and marketing. Most importantly, MPS Systems North America has established local service offerings that include spare parts programs and US-based technical assistance. Green Bay Packaging is looking forward to this development on its campus. “Having a state-of-the-art flexographic press available for print testing will be a tremendous addition to our product development efforts,” states Marty Olson, Green Bay Packaging Senior Vice President. “In addition, offering visiting customers the opportunity to see our material convert will enhance tours of our facilities.”
